This study aims to examine the mythological and supernatural elements found in the folk tales of the Erzincan region. Creatures frequently encountered in these tales-such as giants, dragons, fairies, jinn, "iyes" (spirit
beings), and sorcerers-are evaluated as reflections of the Turkish mythological tradition within the context of folk narratives. The research
addresses the symbolic meanings of these elements and how they are represented in folk culture, with a particular focus on their manifestations in
Erzincan tales. During the analysis process, qualitative research methods were employed. Selected samples from seventy Erzincan folk tales compiled by Ruhi Kara were analyzed using content analysis methodology. The
findings reveal that Erzincan tales not only function as narrative forms but
also contain mythological codes that reflect collective memory, belief systems, and cultural identity. The extraordinary beings found in the tales are
interpreted as significant symbols in both individual and collective consciousness. It is concluded that these elements, transmitted through oral tradition, offer valuable insights into the people's relationship with nature, humanity, and the sacred.
